Why not spend the day in Chatham and explore what life was like in the days of Charles Dickens at Dickens World. There is an assortment of attractions to keep the whole family entertained; jump on board the Great Expectations Boat Ride for splashing good fun, take a trip back in time to a Victorian School complete with nasty schoolmaster or get spooked in The Haunted House of 1859.
While in Chatham you might want to also visit the Historic Dockyard. One of the most popular exhibits is a guided tour through the submarine Ocelot’s cramped interior. A must for all that dare enter the secret world of the submariner. Canterbury Cathedral is a must. "Who will rid me of the Meddlesome Priest" were the words that led to the best known event in the history of the Cathedral when in 1170 Archbishop Thomas Beckett was murdered. And while you are in Canterbury you could always visit Canterbury Tales. Ever wondered what it would be like to step back in time and experience the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone era? A visit to The Canterbury Tales, one of Kent’s most popular attractions, with its stunning reconstruction of 14th century England, you can do that.
There is always lots to do - from Castles and Cathedrals to Gardens and Galleries, and from the countryside that is the Garden of Englend to Kents rich and diverse coastline. How about a Tudor experience at Hever Castle - the historic home of Anne Boleyn. Then there is Penshurst Place, Dover Castle, Knole Park, Rochester Castle or Cathedral.
